The process of stamped asphalt generally includes the following steps:
Preparation:
The existing asphalt surface is thoroughly cleaned and any repairs or resurfacing are done if needed.
Heating:
The asphalt surface is heated to make it pliable for stamping. This can be done using specialized equipment like infrared heaters or propane torches.
Template placement:
The patterned template or stencil is positioned on the heated asphalt surface.
Stamping:
The template is pressed or rolled onto the asphalt surface, creating the desired pattern and texture.
Coloring:
If desired, colored pigments or dyes can be applied to enhance the appearance of the stamped pattern. This step is optional and depends on the design preferences.
